OOPS!!!
The Graduate Program in Applied Technologies for Animals of Regional Interest (PPGTAIR) was created by a group of faculty members working in the broad field of Veterinary Medicine, with strong interdisciplinary connections to biological sciences, health, and related areas. It began its activities in March 2019, offering both Master's and Doctoral programs. The selection process is conducted annually. The program is supported by experienced faculty members with national and international recognition.
The program was designed with the mission of promoting scientific, technological, and regional innovation development in a sustainable and ethical manner through research activities. To achieve this, it aims to foster integration, coordination, and alignment with complementary and related cross-cutting themes through the Concentration Area "Advanced Diagnostics in Animal Health." This area aligns with the primary objective of developing and applying modern processes across various branches of veterinary medicine.
In this context, the program focuses its efforts on comprehensive research, ranging from studies on animal-origin food technology—allowing for microbiological and advanced investigations of industrial processes that impact both animal and human health—to immunopathological and molecular studies of parasites of epidemiological and regional public health interest. Additionally, it encompasses the improvement of reproductive biotechnologies, genomic studies of non-conventional animals, genetic improvement of livestock crucial to the regional economy, as well as approaches for clinical disease diagnosis and innovative therapies in animal models, incorporating cellular biotechnology and materials science.
